General Manager

Our client is an established and growing logistics/warehouse/transportation operation. They are looking to a hire a General Manager who can confidently lead on-site operations through a team of managers, supervisors and team members. The position ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines.

What you will be doing:

• Team Management
  • Provide leadership and support to managers, supervisors and employees through
    effective communications and coaching.
  • Develops a work culture for the site operation to be an Employer of Choice in the
    region.
• Operations
  • Manages equipment maintenance.
  • Manages the warehousing services for the customer set.
  • Leads the facility to meet and exceed customer KPIs in a rapidly changing environment
  • Provide key customer interface for facility management, customer service, and ongoing support
  • Interacts and communicates daily with managers and supervisors.
  • Manages safety compliance, online safety training and coordinates with the safety committee as needed.
  • Manages building repairs and is the frontline interface with the building owners.

What you will have:

• Ability to lead and motivate a 3 shift, 24×7, workforce
• Proven work experience in manufacturing/warehousing management or a related field.
• Knowledge of proper safety management and compliance.
• Financial competence to analyze and drive P&L improvements
• Understanding of quality assurance and management.
• Knowledge of process improvement methods.
• Advanced computer skills with the ability to learn new systems with ease.
• Confidence in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work as a part of the leadership team to provide a cohesive and unified management effort.

What will make you stand out:

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline.
• Several years in a General Management role.
• Related experience in warehousing, logistics and/or manufacturing.
