The Scrum Master will lead high performing Agile delivery teams on a variety of software development projects. You will be an ambassador of the Scrum process and create extraordinary team outcomes.
Long term contract, 10+ months
Primary Responsibilities:
- Facilitate effective team meetings: ceremonies, backlog refinement, stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, team communications, demos and decision making
- Work with the Product Owner(s) and the project team to develop and manage a Product Backlog
- Liaise between the stakeholders and the project team to ensure user stories/acceptance criteria is clearly defined and understood
- Uncover and remove team impediments that prevent the team from achieving their shared goal
- Help teams understand root cause of impediments and get past the symptoms
- Manage product scope and control scope creep during the development sprints
- Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
- Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example
Skills/Experience you should have:
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
- Ability to work with and lead a team
- Collaborative work experience with cross-functional teams to affect resolution of issues and community building across multiple functions
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and mentoring skills
- Outstanding time management skills and attention to details
- Ability to triage scrum team issues based on priority, impact, risk, release timing.
- Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict
- Experience with successful Agile techniques
- Scrum Master certification, first level (CSM, PSM I) required. Second level (CSP, PSM II) preferred
